It’s about Love, not Laws — It’s about loving others, caring for the poor, the widows, the orphans, the destitute, the downtrodden, the so-called untouchables — for no other reason than because of God’s love overflowing out of us.
This site is all about love. It’s about family and faith and fighting for the freedom of those who can’t fight for themselves, and it includes five main topics.
Faith – the core of everything. It all comes back to what I believe about God and my relationship with Him. I could talk about Jesus all day long. How He has plucked me out of the life I designed and how He remade me into something else, something beautiful. It’s not about formality, legalism and ritual – it’s all about love. It is how He loves me and how I respond in love to Him and others. That’s Pure Religion. (James 1:27)
Family – I am first a wife and a mom with seven kids. My family is a major part of my life and honestly, what I believe about God, my love for Him should show up in everything I do for my family. Unfortunately, I’m still figuring it out and perhaps you are too. We can travel that road together.
Freedom – God has birthed in me a passion for seeing others set free – from actual real slavery, from slavery to sin, from bondage and from all sorts of circumstances. God desires people to live lives of freedom, so, naturally, God wants me to care about this as well.
Fair Trade – How we shop and the things we buy show what is important to us. For me, it’s all become about people over products. We are called to care for the poor and buying fair trade is living proof of God’s love. Creating jobs and opportunities by the way we shop is Love.
Feasts – The Lord’s Feasts are one way my family and I worship our God. We believe that every feast that the Lord ordained points directly to Jesus and a picture of God’s grand design for our lives, for the story of the world, for redemption and for His love. We celebrate to learn, to live and to love. It’s about love, not laws.
As you read this blog, you’ll get a glimpse into my heart. It’s my heart on my sleeve–a sum of lessons I’ve learned, wilderness stories, and ideas about continuing to make ripples. It’s about changing the world through faith, family, freedom, feasts, and fair trade.
Join me in discovering freedom in surrender, and love in letting go.
